CERECO: China-EU Regional Economic Cooperation Centre.
As a spin-off of the China-EU cooperation, the China-EU Regional Economic Cooperation Center (CERECO) is a non-profit organization aiming at promoting decentralized cooperation between cities and regions of China and EU.
By supporting and implementing the CETREGIO and World Cities Project in China, CERECO has a longstanding record of achievements under the guidance of the European Commission and NDRC. The center has supported identification and implementation of concrete cooperation projects between partners in European and Chinese regions.
CERECO provides a comprehensive platform on different dimensions including regional cooperation, sustainable urban development (green, smart city projects), trade and investment, technology transfer and business cooperation. Besides, it also obtains direct support from several Chinese regions and cities such as Tianjin, Wuhan/Hubei Province, Chengdu/Sichuan Province, Guangzhou and Shantou/Guangdong Province.
European support beyond EU projects has come from the regions of Lazio, Catalonia and the West Midlands.
The center’s core mission is to enhance direct cooperation between regions of EU and China in relevant fields including policy exchange, civic cooperation, smart city and sustainable urbanization, climate change and environment protection. Second, it aims to reduce the barriers of the market entrance for the business actors from both sides. Last but not least, CERECO promotes direct b2b measures for business incubation, technology transfer, outbound investment and so on.
CERECO has national-wide presence in China and is represented by five offices respectively in Beijing, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chengdu and Guangzhou. It also has rep-offices in Brussels, Rome, Trier and Birmingham.
CERECO is managed by a multinational team in Beijing and Shanghai.
